Meet Dr. Andy Ramos PT, DPT
Dr. Andy Ramos is the founder and owner of Fortis Physical Therapy. Fortis was created for the active-minded individual; from the high-level athlete, weekend warriors, busy professionals, and everything in between. Providing high-quality care begins with understanding the person, and feeling heard. At Fortis, your story matters, you matter. Prior to beginning his own practice, Dr. Andy had experience working with athletes from the NFL, MLB, AVP Beach Volleyball, collegiate athletes, firefighters and tactical field workers. Through a manual-based approach, Dr. Andy gives his patients a hands-on understanding in identifying limitations and empowers them with tools for optimal function.
Dr. Andy received his Bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University in Applied Exercise Science, where he was also a part of the NCAA Division II Track and Field team as a sprinter running the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. He then received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University, where his passion for optimizing movement and athletic performance further developed.

FAQs
-
At Fortis, you pay for your visit directly instead of billing through insurance. That lets us build care around what you need, not what an insurance company will approve. The result is more time, more attention, and a plan designed to get you results.
-
You’ll work with Dr. Ramos, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, for your entire visit. You won’t be handed off to a physical therapy aide or assistant, and you won’t be left on your own with a set of exercises. Every minute of your hour is hands-on, focused care.
-
Insurance-based clinics often have to see many patients at once to stay afloat, which can mean shorter one-on-one time. Fortis is cash-based so Dr. Ramos can give each patient his full attention for the whole hour. It’s the foundation of how we practice.
-
Many of our patients have already tried physical therapy through insurance and didn’t get lasting relief. Others are athletes who want to return to their sport at a high level, or recreational runners and cyclists who want to stay active for years and avoid nagging injuries. If you want undivided attention and a plan built around your goals, cash-based care is worth considering.
-
Often, yes. When care is rushed or split among several staff members due to insurance, it’s easy for the root cause of a problem to be missed. With a full hour alone with a doctor of physical therapy, we can dig into why your pain or injury keeps coming back and adjust your plan as you progress. We’ve successfully rehabilitated many patients that had done physical therapy before unsuccessfully.
-
Yes. We help active people in Irvine and across Orange County recover from injuries, move better, and keep doing what they love. That includes weekend runners, competitive athletes, and everyone in between.
